Clinical Projects and Real-World Data
Who I am:
- In a company built by brilliant technology-oriented people, I am the clinical nerd addicted to following the science toward better clinical decision making
- I enjoy sifting through the evidence in spy thrillers and mysteries to find the answers – which may explain why I also enjoy sifting through data!
What I do at EMOL Health:
Because of my pharmacy education and clinical experience, I work with clients with clinical practice or pharmacologic questions whose answers may be found in our EMR database and assist in communicating their needs to our technical team. When a project requires a deeper look into an EMR, I work closely with our team of curators, all allied health professionals, as they comb through the wealth of unstructured data that is available in a patient chart.
Why I do what I do:
It is difficult to find anyone whose life has not been touched by cancer in some way, and I am no exception having lost my mom and dad to lung cancer and bladder cancer, respectively. I practiced at the H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute in Tampa, Florida for several years helping the pediatric team manage chemotherapy regimens both traditional and investigational. With new targeted therapies and an emphasis on precision oncology medicine, I’m excited to be a part of providing real-world data to support the clinical findings and pave the way for improved treatment options that may translate into improved quality of life for your loved one.
